Cruelty-Free AAPI & Asian-Owned Brand List

Amy Petrucci 1 min read

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month, a time dedicated to recognizing the innovation, influence, and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans (AAPI) to American history, culture, and achievements. The beauty industry would certainly not be what it is today without the influence of Asian beauty, as trends and innovations made by creators and brands have become mainstream cross-continentally.

Sadly, Anti-Asian discrimination, violence, and hate crimes has been on the rise in 2021. There is a long history of discrimination and violence that’s been pervasive for hundreds of years, especially in America. It’s important to spotlight this history and for everyone to educate themselves on this topic.

Supporting AAPI and Asian-owned brands is one way to celebrate entrepreneurs and beauty experts in the community. Below is a list of cruelty-free brands to send some love.

Bili Beauty – Vegan and clean beauty that gives back

Blume – Clean and gentle skin, body, and period care

Cocokind – Conscious skincare

Ellis Brooklyn – Fragrances made in small batches

EM Cosmetics – Modern essentials

Jason Wu Beauty – Makeup by the famous designer

KimChi Chic Beauty – Beauty for all by the iconic Drag Queen

Kulfi – Celebrating South Asian beauty
